Description ~ Lopapeysa or the Icelandic Yoked Sweater
Inspired by Norwegian sweaters and the pearl collars of Greenland, the first knitting pattern of a round yoke sweater was published in a knitting magazine in 1956. Color patterns are worked in this yoked portion while the body is usually worked plain.
Materials Needed ~ Lopapeysa or the Icelandic Yoked Sweater
- 70 yards of worsted weight yarn and another 20 yards of a contrasting color of same weight.
- Needles - US 8's or 5mm appropriate for yarn
